My home, since 1956, has been Tipp City. Even during the years I lived in New Mexico, Florida and Kentucky, my home town has been with me. From early on I was always drawing, wildlife, buildings, teacups and trees. Through my travels I have noted what I have seen, how it felt, and what I thought.
In the mid 70′s, I attended Wright State University School of Nursing but never “settled in.” I have studied from books and demos and in workshops with such artists as Arleta Peck, George Crown and Chuck Marshall. Having used different mediums, I worked as a commercial artist as well as freelance illustrator. It was in 1987 at Edison State that I took my first formal art class and where I found my inspiration, watercolor. In 1999 I began painting on location, joining the Ohio Plein Air Society in 2008. I am amazed at the meditative qualities painting landscapes holds. Combining my love of the natural world and art, I am on a lifelong study course.
